Canada’s winless streak stretched to five games after a 2-0 defeat to Belarus in Monday’s friendly international in Doha.

Goals from Vitali Rodionov and Vladimir Khvashchinskiy gave the Eastern Europeans victory over the Canadians, who are winless in 2013.

Belarus opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark when Rodionov nodded home a free-kick from Renan Bressan.

Khvashchinskiy sealed the result just before the final whistle, nodding home his first international goal on 88 minutes.

Canada leave Qatar having suffered two defeats in the space of a week after Japan beat Tony Fonseca’s side 2-1 on Saturday.

In their four matches this year, the Canadians have allowed eight goals while only scoring one.

Belarus, meanwhile, bounce back after losing 1-0 to Jordan in Amman last week.
