Troubled Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton was cleared of all charges relating to the vandalising of a taxi in Manchester last year.
On Friday he was found not guilty in the Liverpool Magistrates Court of an incident that occurred in Manchester in March 2007 whilst he was still playing for Manchester City.
Barton, 25, who was last week jailed for six months for admitting assault and affray, left court to return to prison after a half-day trial.
