Juventus keen on Alex Grimaldo

Italian champions Juventus are keeping close tabs on Benfica defender Alex Grimaldo, according to Tuttosport.

The Bianconeri are unlikely to reinforce the full-back positions in January, but they do plan to rejuvenate their back line at the end of the season.

Even though Stephen Lichtsteiner and Dani Alves are not getting any younger, Juventus have a good long-term solution for the right hand side in Pol Lirola, who is currently on loan at Sassuolo.

However, they plan to recruit a talented left-back who would challenge Alex Sandro for a starting berth in years to come, and Benfica’s Alex Grimaldo appears to be high on their hit-list.

The 21-year-old has largely impressed since arriving on a cut-price deal from Barcelona and it appears Benfica will soon get a chance to earn a hefty profit on his services.

Grimaldo’s suitors Juventus again lead the chase in Italian Serie A, and they are priced at 1/10 to defend the league trophy.
