Juventus rekindle interest in Shaqiri; Van der Vaart set for Hamburg exit

Turin-based media outlet Tuttosport has learned that Juventus have reignited their interest in Bayern Munich starlet Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Bianconeri might decide to cash in on star player Arturo Vidal in January following the latest incidents and plan to sign the Swiss midfielder as his replacement.

Juventus officials have been keeping close tabs on Shaqiri for quite a while and they believe he has what it takes to succeed in Turin.

The good news is that the player is hoping to leave Alianz Arena in search of first team football even if he admitted that the club were not interested in letting him go.

However, chances are that Bayern would be unable to resist a big-money offer for the winger in the January transfer window.

Xherdan Shaqiri has shown a great deal of potential since arriving from FC Basel, scoring 10 goals in 48 Bundesliga outings, while netting three times for Switzerland at the 2014 World Cup.

Van der Vaart set for Hamburg exit

Dutch midfielder Rafael van der Vaart will be leaving Hamburg at the end of the season, Sport Bild has suggested.

The Red Shorts captain remains an important player for the club, but considering that he is earning around €3.5 million per season, he is highly unlikely to be offered a new deal.

Van der Vaart’s current contract is due to expire at the end of the campaign and chances are he will be leaving in the summer.

A January exit seems unlikely since Hamburg will want one of their star players present as they battle for Bundesliga survival.

Rafael van der Vaart, 31, returned to Imtech Arena two years ago having joined from Tottenham Hotspur and he has since notched 12 goals in 56 Bundesliga matches.

Hamburg ended a dismal run of results by defeating Borussia Dortmund on the road and they are 7/5 to beat Hoffenheim as well after the international break.

Porto star coy on PSG link

Porto midfielder Yacine Brahimi has refused to comment on the reported interest in his services from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Algerian joined the Dragons from Malaga this summer and has enjoyed an excellent start to his career in Portugal.

While he managed 2 assists in 6 league starts, the 24-year-old impressed during club’s Champions League campaign, scoring 4 goals in as many matches.

Brahimi has in turn attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain, but the midfielder is adamant his agent is dealing with potential proposals.

“I cannot talk about it now. You have to ask my agent,” Brahimi explained to Algerian newspaper Le Buteur.

Yacine Brahimi is the product of Rennes’ famous youth school and he has also represented Clermont and Granada before arriving at Estadio do Dragao.
