Liverpool striker Robbie Keane was relieved after scoring his first goal for the club, in the 3-1 win over Dutch side PSV at Anfield last night.
The former Tottenham striker went 10 games without a goal for Liverpool, since joining the Reds this summer.
“I’ve got a monkey off my back,” Keane told Sky Sports after the match. “It’s been a few games.
“It’s always nice to get the first goal but I wasn’t too worried, it was just people talking. I hope I score a lot more for this club.”
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez was also happy to see Keane score his first goal for the club.
“Before, people were talking about this, so it was important for him and for us,” Benítez said.
“But maybe now we will talk about his first goal in the Premier League. Because he’s a striker and he’s ambitious, I’m sure he will be looking now for his first goal in the Premier League and a lot of them in the future.”
