Getafe moved up to eighth spot in La Liga, with a 2-0 win at home to Real Zaragoza on Friday.
The Coliseum Alfonso Perez hosts went ahead on 21 minutes via Adrian Colunga, before Sergio Escudero sealed the points just beyond the hour mark.
Assist provider for Getafe’s first goal Pedro Leon, however, was dismissed just after they gained their two-goal advantage.
But Leon’s dismissal – he picked up two yellow cards in as many minutes – only offset the red given to Zaragoza defender Glenn Loovens only minutes earlier.
Neither side could produce the goods in front of goal with 10 men, and Getafe eased to their third win in succession.
Zaragoza have now lost three of their past four to be entrenched in a relegation battle in the Spanish top flight, sitting just two points above the drop.
