Leeds 8/5 to beat Stoke in Sundays Championship clash

Competition: Championship

Market: Leeds win

Odds: 8/5 @ Bet 365

After dropping down from the Premier League after a decade stay, Gary Rowett’s Stoke City side know they must improve on recent results if they stand any chance of bouncing straight back to the top-flight. Kicking off their first Championship appearance on Sunday, The Potters will travel to Elland Road.

Starting with Leed’s new boss Marcelo Bielsa, although the former Napoli and Argentina boss has stated not much notice can be taken from their pre-season form, many at Elland Road are excited about the new season. Coming off the back of a 1-0 win over Las Palmas last week, Leeds only lost one of their six pre-season outings and have shone in the final third. Along with adding 24-year-old Patrick Bamford to their ranks, The Whites have now found the net eight times in their last three games. Given their boost in confidence and up against a Stoke side drastically short of form, we’re backing Leeds to come away with the three points on Sunday afternoon.

As for the visitors, although The Potters were able to keep hold of some of their biggest stars and also added the likes of Tom Ince, James McClean and Benik Afobe to their ranks this summer, Stoke have been truly out of form during an abysmal run of form. Coming off the back of a 2-0 loss to second-tier German side St. Pauli, Stoke are on a five-match winless run and have lost four of those friendlies. Even more worrying for the new Stoke boss, his side have only managed to record a single goal.
