Manchester United’s ongoing pursuit to bring in some pace and creativity into their attack this month sees Bayer Leverkusen forward Hakan Calhanoglu being linked with a move to the Red Devils in the January transfer window. Manager Louis van Gaal wants a player who will inject goals into the team, and the talented Turkish international is one of many on his shortlist.

The 21-year-old has been in fine form this season, scoring and creating five goals, while having attempted 42 dribbles and making 42 chances. He’s been interesting a number of sides as a result, but United could win the race for his signature as they are willing to meet the German club’s asking price, and Hakan Calhanoglu is keen to make the switch.

Back in November, the Leverkusen man hinted at an interest of moving to Old Trafford, so this month could well see a transfer transpire in due time. Betfair are giving odds of 5/2 for United to sign Hakan Calhanoglu this month, and his addition will give Van Gaal more attacking options for the second half of the season.
