All participants of the next round in the Copa Libertadores are now known, as all first round matches have been completed. The only big news this week was Boca Junior’s win over Union Maracaibo, which earned them a spot in the next round.
CD Colo Colo could have kept the Argentinian behind with a home win over Atlas Guadalajara on Tuesday, but were held to a 1-1 draw instead. This was enough for the Mexicans to secure the top spot in Group 3.
Boca needed three goals to surpass the Chileans of Colo Colo and scored exactly that amount against Venezuelan side Union Maracaibo. The net was hit by Paletta, Dátolo and Riquelme.
