Struggling Jaguares recorded their first win of the new Clausura season with a 2-0 victory over Liga MX heavyweights Tijuana on Friday.

The match came to life in the second half when Tijuana were reduced to 10 men after Edgar Castillo brought down Franco Arizala in the penalty box.

Luis Rey converted the resultant penalty in the 50th minute and then grabbed his second 13 minutes later to seal a much-needed win for Jaguares at Estadio Zoque.

After a promising start to the new campaign, Apertura champions Tijuana have now lost their past two league games.

Jaguares remain in 16th spot on five points, while Tijuana stay fourth after missing the chance to go level on points with leaders Tigres.
