Competition: Europa League
Market: Liverpool and Dortmund to draw
Odds: 13/5 @ Bet 365
Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund lock horns at Anfield for the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash tonight, in a game hard to call given how close the two sides have been in the competition this season. Dortmund are the stronger side, but Liverpool remain unbeaten in Europe, and have home advantage this evening.
A draw would mean extra time and possibly penalties, but given the first leg ended up a stalemate at the Westfalenstadion, it’s not unlikely that a repeat could happen at Anfield. Liverpool and Dortmund could score tonight, but they will be very wary of being exploited for playing too open.
Liverpool have been in much better form in the Europa League than they have in the Premier League this season. The Merseysiders are the only side unbeaten in the competition, but they won’t underestimate a strong and dangerous Dortmund outfit. The visitors have won nine and drawn three of their last 12 league games so they pose a real threat tonight.
However, Liverpool have proven to be no slouches in the Europa League, and this evening’s clash at Anfield might go the distance as a result.
