Sky Italia is reporting that Liverpool have submitted an official offer to sign Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna in the summer.
The 31-year-old will be out of contract in June and it appears he will not be signing a new deal at the Emirates.
According to Sky Italia, Inter Milan remain the favourites for his signature, but Liverpool are reportedly keen as well.
The same source has suggested the Reds have already submitted a substantial offer in an attempt to lure the Frenchman to Anfield.
Bacary Sagna looks set to leave Arsenal after seven years and almost 200 Premier League appearances for the Gunners.
He was unlucky not to have won a single trophy with the Emirates outfit, but he might just say goodbye to the club with a major title.
Arsenal sit one point behind Premier League leaders Chelsea with 12 games to go and they are available at 9/1 to win the coveted title.
