Löw switched from Hoffenheim to Mainz

Hungarian defender Zsolt Löw has taken the chance to sign for Mainz after having grown exasperated by his lack of first-team opportunities at high-flying Hoffenheim. Löw, who has 25 caps for Hungary, has put pen-to-paper on a two-and-a-half year deal.

“Because of our injury problems at left back we wanted to strengthen our squad again”, commented Mainz’s sporting director Christian Heidel.
