Maduro signs for Sevilla

Sevilla have announced on their official website that they are set to sign midfielder Hedwiges Maduro from Valencia.

The Dutch midfielder is expected to finalize his move to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Tuesday.

The player has agreed personal terms with los Rojiblancos and will sign a three-year deal subject to passing a medical.

Maduro will join his new teammates when his contract at Valencia expires at the end of the month.

The 27-year-old was offered a contract extension at Mestalla, while he also had an offer from Spartak Moscow, now coached by former Valencia boss Unai Emery, but he eventually opted for Sevilla.

Maduro joined Valencia from Ajax in January 2008, but numerous injuries prevented him from fulfilling his potential at Mestalla.

The holding midfielder, who is equally adept at playing as a centre-back, has featured in just 7 La Liga games this season, while he made one Europa League appearance.
