According to Sky Sports Manchester City have not just tabled a bid for Dimitar Berbatov but have also made an ambitious swoop for Valencia star David Villa and Stuttgart’s German hit-man, Mario Gomez.
Having just been taken over by new Arabic owners who claim to have a three year plan to take the club to the top of Europe, City appear to be ready to pay massive amounts to bring in the best players on the last day of the transfer window.
Villa has just signed a long term contract at Valencia and looked set to stay with a bid in excess of £ 30 million turned down from Real Madrid, however City may reportedly eclipse whatever was Real’s bid to tempt Valencia into a sale.
23-year old Gomez and 26-year old Villa are considered some of the hottest property in the transfer market and both are huge stars for Germany and Spain respectively.
