Manchester City keen on Dante

German daily newspaper Sport Bild is reporting that Manchester City are showing interest in Bayern Munich defender Dante.

The Citizens are actively searching for defensive reinforcements and boss Manuel Pellegrini believes the Brazilian would be a perfect partner for captain Vincent Kompany.

Prizing the 30-year-old away from Alianz Arena is unlikely to be an easy task given that he is regarded as an important member of the squad by the club.

Dante has a contract until June 2016 in Munich, but having paid just €4.7 million for his services, the Bavarians might be ready to sell if the price is right.

The Brazilian managed to nail down a regular starting berth at Alianz Arena shortly after arriving from Borussia M’Gladbach, making 44 Bundesliga appearances in the process.

While they are cruising towards another league title, Bayern are also 9/4 favourites to defend the Champions League trophy despite being pitted against Arsenal in the Last 16 stage.
