Martin Montoya joins Real Betis

Real Betis have completed the loan deal for Barcelona full-back Martin Montoya, the Catalans have announced on their official Twitter account.

The right-sided defender only joined Inter Milan on loan last summer, but he endured disappointing six months at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza and will be delighted to leave the Nerazzurri.

Montoya will be given a new chance to impress having joined Real Betis on loan until the end of the season and possibly earn a long-term contract seeing that the Catalans do not seem keen on bringing him back to Camp Nou.

The 24-year-old only managed three Serie A appearances since joining in the summer, and he will be keen to get his career back on track.

His new employers Real Betis have struggled for form of late, having failed to win any of their last 12 games in all competitions, and they can now be backed at 7/5 to see off struggling Valencia.
