Napoli step up chase for Lyon hotshot

Italian giants Napoli have stepped up their efforts to sign French midfielder Corentin Tolisso from Lyon, L’Equipe can reveal.

The talented footballer has been on their radar for quite some time and the Azzurri decided to act after their top target Davy Klaassen rejected a move to Stadio San Paolo.

According to L’Equipe, Napoli officials informed their Lyon counterparts that they were ready to offer around €16 million for the 21-year-old midfielder.

Nevertheless, they were told that Tolisso was not for sale, although chances are that the Azzurri are not prepared to give up on their target just yet.

It is believed that the central midfielder is interested in leaving les Gones for greener pastures this summer, but he reportedly prefers a move to English Premier League, where Arsenal are keen.

Tolisso has enjoyed a very good season with Lyon, scoring 5 goals and producing 6 assists in 33 Ligue 1 outings.
