Italian media outlet Il Mattino understands that Napoli have joined the chase for Sao Paulo defender Rodrigo Caio.
The Azzurri somehow managed to keep hold of Kalidou Koulibaly in the summer transfer window, but they might not be able to prevent the centre-back from leaving in January.
As a result, they are looking at potential replacements and have now set their sights on Santos hotshot Rodrigo Caio.
The highly rated defender is almost certain to continue his career in Italian Serie A given that Lazio and AC Milan are also hot on his trail.
Rodrigo Caio captained the Brazil side that won their first ever Olympics title at the 2016 Summer Games, and the 23-year-old was also in the squad for the 2016 Copa America Centenario.
His suitors Napoli hope to challenge for the Serie A trophy this season, and are currently 8/1 chance to succeed in their quest.
