Newcastle United keen on permanent Dubravka deal

Newcastle United are keen to agree a permanent deal for on loan goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, according to the Mirror.

The Slovakia international was signed by the North East outfit last month with manager Rafael Benitez keen to give Karl Darlow and Rob Elliot more competition.

He made his debut in Sunday afternoon’s surprise 1-0 win over Manchester United at St. James’s Park and turned in a man-of-the-match performance as the hosts kept a first clean sheet in seven games to help ease their relegation fears.

Dubravka only moved to Sparta Prague last summer, signing from Slovan Liberec on a free transfer and moved to England after making just eleven appearances for his parent club.

Internationally, he has been capped nine times for his country with one of those appearances coming against England in a World Cup qualifying match back in September – a game which was won 2-1 by the Three Lions.
