Neymar wants five-time increase in salary

Spanish daily newspaper AS is reporting that Brazilian superstar Neymar wants a huge increase in salary in order to sign a new deal with Barcelona.

The Brazilian is currently earning €9.18 million per season, having signed a five-year deal that is due to expire in June 2018.

According to AS, Neymar now wants to be paid staggering €45 million per campaign if he is to extend his stay at Camp Nou.

With Paris Saint-Germain and few other top clubs showing interest in his services, the Brazilian clearly believes this is a perfect opportunity to seriously improve his earnings.

AS claims that Barcelona are ready to match his demands, but they cannot do so before July since there is no place in the current budget for such a major expense.

The Catalans expect to sign a new shirt sponsorship contract as well as renew their deal with Nike, while they are also considering selling the stadium naming rights.
