Montpellier chairman Laurent Nicollin has claimed that midfielder Remy Cabella is worth 100 million euros.
The 23-year-old made 40 appearances for the French club this season, scoring eight goals and providing nine assists despite Montpellier slumping to eighth in Ligue 1 as they failed to defend their title.
But with the likes of Arsenal reportedly having taken an interest as a result of Cabella’s fine form, Nicollin has warned potential suitors that the Frenchman will not come cheap.
“He is non-transferable,” he told Radio Monte Carlo. “We try to anticipate and plan things, even in football, but it’s complicated.
“The desire of the club is to keep Remy – he was told and knows this. If a club arrives and offers 100 million euros, it will be discussed though.”
Cabella is yet to earn a senior France cap but has made 17 appearances at Under-21 level, scoring four goals.
Montpellier also announced on Thursday that defender Vitorino Hilton has signed a one-year extension to his contract.
