Brazilian star Nilmar is on the verge of a return home after the Villarreal striker agreed to personal terms with Internacional.
The Brazilian club’s director Cuca Lima confirmed the deal and said the transfer fee was being negotiated with Villarreal.
The Spanish club suffered a dramatic drop off this season, relegated to the Segunda Division just a season after securing Champion League football and are expected to lose many of their top players.
“The wage settlement with the player is already well underway, and we should not have any major problems,” Lima told Lancenet.
“The question now is Villarreal. There is speculation that they will ask for between eight and 10 million euros.”
Nilmar, 27, started his career with Internacional and will return for his third stint having also played for them between 2007 and 2009, before departing for Villarreal to replace Diego Forlan.
