Palermo Chief blasts at Inter Boss Mourinho

(GSM) – Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has hit out at Inter coach Jose Mourinho after the Portuguese refused to shake hands with him prior to Saturday’s 1-1 draw at the Renzo Barbera.

Mourinho apparently snubbed a pre-match greeting from the Rosanero patron and the entrepreneur now thinks the ex-Chelsea manager has outstayed his welcome in Italy.

“I didn’t know him personally and when I saw him in the changing room I offered him my hand to welcome him,” Zamparini explained.

He said he behaviour surprised him, “But he curtly turned around, leaving me dumbfounded. I was surprised by this behaviour, because I have always spoken well of him.”

Zamparini comments about his behaviour, “I said that sometimes he was a ‘comedian’, but also that he knows about football. I can’t allow anyone to behave like that at my home, mine was only a welcoming gesture.”

“Inter chief executive [Ernesto] Paolillo watched this incident and he tried to excuse him by saying he was just being superstitious,” he said.

Palermo chief criticized his behaviour, “That was not superstition, but just ill manners. If Mourinho wants to behave like this he can just as well go back to Portugal”

Mourinho has recently revealed he has an escape clause in his contract with the Beneamata and the Italian press is convinced he will quit the San Siro in the summer.
