Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has confirmed that Matias Silvestre is on the brink of completing a move to Inter Milan.

The Sicilian outfit’s supremo had previously revealed that negotiations with Inter were at an advanced stage and that it was only a matter of time before a deal would be organised.

And Zamparini has now confirmed a deal has been agreed to regarding the 27-year-old centre-back, while adding left-back Federico Balzaretti would be staying at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.

“We concluded negotiations with Inter regarding Silvestre last week,” Zamparini told Sportitalia.

“Federico Balzaretti? He will stay with us, I have no intention of selling him.”

Silvestre, who joined Palermo from Catania last off-season, made 29 appearances in Serie A in 2011-12.
