Pepe set to quit Real Madrid

Spanish daily newspaper Marca claims that Portuguese defender Pepe is close to leaving Real Madrid.

The veteran stopper will be out of contract at the end of the season and even though his representatives have been discussing a new deal with the club, agreement does not appear on the horizon.

Meanwhile, Pepe has received two very good offers from China, with the one made by Hebei Fortune especially appealing.

The club coached by his former boss Manuel Pellegrini has offered the centre-back a deal worth €10 million per campaign, which is more than double what he is currently earning at Santiago Bernabeu.

The only reason why Pepe could decide to remain with los Blancos is his desire to take part at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, as his time in the national team would probably come to an end should he decide to leave Real Madrid after ten years and move to China.
