Premier League star open to summer move

Jose Enrique doesn’t want to rule out a summer transfer amidst interest from big English clubs.

The Newcastle defender has earned rave reviews for his performances this season, while attracting interest of Liverpool, Manchester United and Aston Villa.

“I read in English newspapers that teams like Liverpool, Manchester United and Aston Villa want me and that’s a compliment,” Jose Enrique told Marca.

“These are big teams in England. Now, I am happy at Newcastle but I do not close door to anything.

”I want to play in the Champions League and make it to Spain national team.”

Enrique’s contract at Newcastle expires in June 2012, and the Spaniard says he is happy at St James Park.

“I’ve always said I am happy at this club. It is true that I have been promised things that were not fulfilled.

”Like every player, I want to win titles. I want to say to my children in the future that I have played in the Champions League and for Spain national team.

“I am ambitious and I do not close door to anything.”
