Premiership giants battle for Belgian wonderkid

A number of top Premier League sides are believed to be keen on PSV Eindhoven hotshot Zakaria Bakkali, Daily Express reports.

Manchester City have already sent scouts to watch the highly rated footballer in action, while Chelsea and Arsenal are also showing interest.

None of the clubs are looking to sign the player this summer, but they plan to monitor his progress this season and possibly try and recruit him in a year’s time.

Despite never before featuring for the senior side, the 17-year-old has started the current season as a first team regular and has already showed a great deal of potential.

Bakkali became the youngest ever player to score a hat-trick in Dutch Eredivisie as he bagged three goals in a 5-0 victory over NEC Nijmegen.

He has, unfortunately, picked up a groin injury that could see him miss the all-important clash with AC Milan in the Champions League play-offs.
