PSG offer €40 million for Ganso; Santos chief rules out summer exit for Neymar

PSG offer €40 million for Ganso

Paris Saint-Germain have offered €40 million for Santos midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso, according to L’Equipe.

The 20-year-old playmaker is widely tipped to leave Santos amidst interest from Milan, Inter and Paris Saint-Germain, although the Brazilian club are hoping he stays at least until January.

Santos are set to take part in Club World Cup in January and they are eager for both Neymar and Ganso to star at the tournament.

According to L’Equipe, Paris Saint Germain have now offered €40 million for the highly rated midfielder as their sporting director Leonardo is very keen on the youngster.

The French club had a €30 million bid rejected few days ago, but that didn’t stop them from making a new offer.

With the player’s release clause standing at €50 million, the two clubs could be close to reaching an agreement, especially as the French club have considerable transfer funds at their disposal.

The player’s desire to join Milan could be the only obstacle to the deal, although the Saints are hoping his compatriot Leonardo will manage to persuade him into joining Paris Saint-Germain.

Santos chief rules out summer exit for Neymar

Santos sporting director Luiz Nunes Pedro Conceicao has revealed that the club don’t plan to sell Neymar this summer.

Even though the youngster appeared to be nearing a switch to Real Madrid, the Brazilian club have no intention of selling him this summer.

Santos want Neymar to take part in the Club World Cup that will be played next January.

“We have no intention of opening negotiations for Neymar right now,” Conceicao told Marca.

Even though the recent reports suggested that Santos would settle for €45 million once they decided to cash in on their star player, Conceicao is adamant it will take more money to prize Neymar away from Santos.

“€45 million is cheap. He is worth more.

”We do not understand how a club can spend €30 million on a defender such as Coentrao and do not pay €45 million for a striker who scores goals and entertains.”

The Santos chief then sent a clear message to Real Madrid.

“They are spoiled. They think money is everything in life and sometimes it’s not. There are more important values.”

Boca Juniors youngster favours Barcelona move

Boca Juniors forward Sergio Araujo has rejected speculations linking him with a move to Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid have the first option to sign the highly rated youngster, but they could face stiff competition for the player’s signature from Barcelona.

The Spanish giants have yet to make any formal for the 19-year-old, but the player admits he prefers Barcelona to Real Madrid.

“I have always watched the great teams in La Liga since I was a kid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid… I never watch Real Madrid,” Araujo told Catalan daily Sport.

“They don’t have any players who I like, not even Cristiano Ronaldo.”

The player who has only made 10 appearances for Boca Juniors admits that he is in owe of Leo Messi.

“I watched last season’s Champions League final at home with two friends and jumped off the couch to celebrate Lionel Messi’s goal. He’s my favourite Barcelona player.

“He plays different for Barca than for Argentina because he has brilliant team-mates like Xavi and Iniesta.”
