Spanish daily newspaper AS has learned that Real Madrid have rekindled their interest in PSG star Marco Verratti.
Seeing as Sami Khedira is leaving and the likes of Asier Illarramendi and Lucas Silva have failed to live up to the billing, los Blancos plan to recruit a high-profile central midfielder this summer.
According to AS, Real Madrid have made Paris Saint-Germain hotshot Marco Verratti their primary target.
However, luring the Italy international to Santiago Bernabeu will be no easy task seeing as PSG are not prepared to sell their prized asset.
Verratti recently signed a new deal until June 2019 at Parc des Princes, with his salary increased to €2.5 million per season, and the player has made it clear he is happy to remain with the Saints.
Paris Saint-Germain face Auxerre in the Couple de France final at Stade de France in Paris and Laurent Blanc’s charges can be backed at 1/6 to win in regular time.
