Competition: Champions League
Market: Real Madrid to win against Bayern
Odds: 6/4 @ William Hill
Should they see past Bayern Munich over two legs, Real Madrid have the chance to reach the Champions League final, in what could be their first European triumph in 12 years. The 2002 Champions League final win against Bayer Leverkusen remains the last European crown Los Blancos have won, but they have another great opportunity to get a foothold tonight.
Bayern Munich are the reigning European champions and have lost just one game in their Champions League campaign – 3-2 at home to Manchester City. They travel tonight to face a side with a formidable home record. Real Madrid haven’t lost in Europe at the Santiago Bernabeu this season.
The 2011 Champions League semi-final exit to Barcelona was the last time Real Madrid lost a European game at home. Barca were ironically managed by now Bayern boss Pep Guardiola too which adds pressure going into tonight’s meeting.
Nevertheless, William Hill are giving Real Madrid odds of 6/4 to gain the upper hand with a win in the first leg.
