Real Madrid agree deal for Atletico starlet

Spanish daily newspaper Marca claims that Real Madrid have reached an agreement to sign talented left-back Theo Hernandez from local rivals Atletico Madrid.

The same source has suggested that los Blancos have already agreed personal terms with the 19-year-old footballer and they plan to match his €24 million release clause.

The local rivals have so far restrained from poaching each other’s players, and there are no doubts that the relationship between them will be severely worsened after the deal for Theo Hernandez goes through.

Speaking from a sporting side, the transfer definitely makes sense as Real Madrid are in the market for a left-sided defender due to the fact that Fabio Coentrao will be offloaded at the end of the season.

Theo Hernandez hasn’t made a single senior appearance for Atletico Madrid, but he largely impressed in his maiden La Liga campaign, featuring in 24 league games during the loan stint with Deportivo Alaves.
