Real Madrid has so far this summer failed to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, Santi Cazorla and David Villa. The Spanish giants will now try to sign Valencia ace Joaquin, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.
Real are desperate to make a big signing in order to strengthen their attack for the coming season, and with the transfer market closing in a few days, they have now moved to the next man on the list.
Valencia looked prepared to sell Joaquin for financial reasons, should they manage to keep David Villa and David Silva for the coming season.
The 27 year old winger failed, like the rest of the Valencia team, to impress last season and could be interested in a move to Real Madrid to further boost his career.
Joaquin joined Valencia in 2006 from Real Betis for 25 million euros.
