Redknapp: Villas-Boas getting it easy

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp and Manchester City’s Roberto Mancini have both told Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas to stop complaining.

Villas-Boas has been unhappy with the media’s criticism of his side in recent weeks, and has been outspoken in his views.

But Redknapp has told the Chelsea boss he is getting an easy ride.

“How would you like to be (Blackburn manager) Steve Kean? Look at what he has been through,” Redknapp told SkySports.

“He hasn’t complained about being victimised has he?”

“He celebrates with Yakubu after they score a goal and the fans start booing him.”

“When you’re not winning that goes with the territory.”

“You’ve just got to get on with it. It’s no good complaining. It doesn’t help. It only gets worse. The only way to stop it is to win.”

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini shares the same opinion as Redknapp and is surprised by Villas-Boas’ reaction.

“When you lose, you receive criticism, that is normal. Also when you lose, you have to work more,” Mancini said.

“When we win, the media will say you are a top team, when you lose, you get criticised. This is our life.”

“It’s not easy to manage a top squad. He was manager of Porto and they’re a top club. I don’t know about his situation there.”

“But if you choose this job then you should accept criticism, it’s normal when results don’t go well.”
