Reina reveals doubts over his future

Pepe Reina has revealed that it he is unlikely to remain in Liverpool once he returns to the club at the end of his loan spell with Napoli, the Mirror understands.

The Spain international has played twenty-five times for Rafa Benitez’s side this season, but is unlikely to be kept on at the Serie A side.

Brendan Rodgers has also deemed the former Barcelona man surplus to requirements at Anfield, with Simon Mignolet firmly established as the Reds’ first choice goalkeeper.

Reina has two years remaining on his contract with the Merseyside club, but has said that he and his family are enjoying life in Italy.

The 31 year old is currently nursing a knee injury, which is likely to keep him out of Thursday evening’s Europa League tie against Swansea City.

Napoli are currently third favourites behind Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur to win the tournament, and can be backed at a price of 9/1.
