Saudi Arabian striker Yasser Al Qahtani will leave UAE champions Al Ain and return to Riyadh giants Al Hilal, according to reports.

UAE newspaper Sport360 has reported the 29-year-old striker, who scored 12 goals in all competitions last season as Al Ain clinched the UAE league title, will return to parent club Al Hilal.

According to the report, Al Qahtani’s success at Al Ain has made him hot property, prompting Al Hilal to seek to bring him back to his homeland ahead of their 2012 AFC Champions League quarter-final against Ulsan Hyundai.

Al Qahtani spent the 2011/12 season on loan at Al Ain from Al Hilal, who he has called home since 2005.

“It’s less likely with Al Qahtani. Al Hilal want him for the ACL as they’ve got through to the knockout stages and he’s a big player for them,” an unidentified club source told Sport360.

“Yasser came to Al Ain, found his form, helped us win the league and he is now a wanted man.”
