AS Roma are hot on the trail of Atalanta starlet Marco Sportiello, Sport Mediaset has learned.
With Wojciech Szczesny unlikely to remain at Stadio Olimpico beyond the current season, the Giallorossi are on the lookout for a new number one.
According to Sport Mediaset, AS Roma are seriously considering a bid for Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Sportiello.
The same source has suggested that Premier League strugglers AFC Bournemouth could challenge the Serie A giants for the 23-year-old footballer.
Marco Sportiello is another impressive product of Atalanta’s youth school and he did well to gain much needed first team experience during loan spells with Seregno, Poggibonsi and Carpi before returning to his parent club.
The talented shot-stopper quickly managed to nail down a regular starting berth at Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia, and he already has 56 Serie A appearances for his name.
And while Atalanta seem unlikely to cash in on Sportiello midway through the season, a summer exit is a realistic possibility.
