Russian league leaders Rubin Kazan set a new record by winning all of their seven first matches in this season’s campaign.
Never before did a club manage to win the first seven games in a season, and Rubin Kazan were first to achieve that fact with a 2-0 win at Dinamo Moscow on Friday.
Dato Kvirkvelia opened the score for Rubin in the 27th minute, and a second goal was added by Sergei Semak seven minutes later.
Depending on Lokomotiv Moscow’s result against Spartak Nalchik on Sunday, Rubin have an advantage of at least five points.
