(GSM) – Zenit St. Petersburg returned to winning ways in the Russian Premier League, beating Alaniya Vladikavkaz 3-0 on Sunday.
Former PSV Eindhoven striker Danko Lazovic put Zenit in the lead after 17 minutes, and in-form Alexander Kerzhakov doubled that advantage shortly before the break.
Kerzhakov went on to score a third home goal in the 52nd minute, more than enough to end Alaniya’s resistance.
Zenit are six points ahead of second-placed Rubin Kazan and have a game in hand.
Third-placed CSKA Moskva dropped points at Saturn, where the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Tomas Necid did score the opener for CSKA in the 39th minute but Alexei Ivanov leveled right after the interval.
