La Liga champions Barcelona have moved a step closer to recruiting French defender Samuel Umtiti from Olympique Lyon, Le Dauphine Libere has suggested.
It is no secret that the Catalans have made the talented centre-back one of their primary targets, and les Gones are ready to negotiate the sale considering that they will be able to keep hold of Alexandre Lacazette if his teammate leaves.
According to Le Dauphine Libere, the player agreed personal terms with Barcelona on Friday, and he is waiting for the two clubs to agree on a transfer fee.
Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea were also keen on the 22-year-old defender, but everything suggests he will be moving to Camp Nou in the summer transfer window.
Samuel Umtiti is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most talented defenders, and just like his compatriot Jeremy Mathieu, he is equally adept at playing as left-back.
