Rowan Vine struck a brace as St Johnstone won 3-1 at Hibernian to climb into fourth place on the Scottish Premier League table.

Vine opened the scoring at Easter Road after 22 minutes and doubled up just four minutes later as the visitors headed into the break in control.

Patrick Cregg extended the margin on 58 minutes to all but seal the three points for Steve Lomas’ side.

Leigh Griffiths pulled one back eight minutes from time but it was mere consolation as Hibernian slumped to a second consecutive league defeat.

The win was St Johnstone’s third from their past four league games and saw them leapfrog Hibernian in the standings.
