Sevilla close on Leonel Vangioni

Spanish La Liga high-flyers Sevilla are stepping up their efforts to recruit Argentine defender Leonel Vangioni from AC Milan, according to Diario de Sevilla.

Los Rojiblancos are desperate to recruit a new left-back due to ongoing injury problems for Benoit Tremoulinas, and they are eager to address the issue as soon as possible due to difficult fixture list in January.

Diario de Sevilla and Marca have learned that AC Milan defender Leonel Vangioni has emerged as their top target, with transfer guru Monchi attempting to agree a loan deal with the Rossoneri.

The 29-year-old arrived at San Siro in the summer on a free transfer from River Plate, but has since failed to make a single appearance for the club and is almost certain to leave in January.

And having had impressed playing for the Millionaires, Sevilla chiefs clearly believe he has what it takes to perform at the highest level.
