Sevilla leading race for Espanyol hotshot

Sevilla are weighing up a bid for Espanyol forward Alvaro Vazquez, Spanish daily Marca reveals.

Los Rojiblancos are looking to sign a new striker in January, with Giovani dos Santos, Jose Antonio Reyes and Goran Pandev in the mix.

However, according to Marca, Sevilla have made Espanyol forward Alvaro Vazquez their number one target in January.

The 20-year-old striker has been showing a lot of potential this season, and he has already attracted interest from sides like Roma and Valencia.

Espanyol would like to keep hold of their prized asset, but their difficult financial situation is making it difficult for them to resist an offer from Sevilla.

The player is reportedly aware of interest from los Rojiblancos and is excited by the prospect of joining such a big club.

Vazquez’s contract at Montjuic is set to expire in June 2013 and it is believed that an offer in the region of €3 million would do the trick.
