Sevilla forward Kevin Gameiro is back in light training after a lengthy absence with a knee injury.
The France international switched to La Liga from Paris Saint-Germain in July 2013 and enjoyed a productive first season at Sevilla, scoring 15 goals in 35 top-flight games.
A knee problem has kept him out of action this term, but he tweeted on Wednesday with good news regarding his possible comeback.
“I am currently pursuing my recovery, I train alone. I touched the ball a little and felt good. I hope to resume with the group early next week if all goes well,” he wrote.
In the 27-year-old’s absence, Sevilla have started the season well, taking 10 points from four league games and kicking off the defence of their UEFA Europa League crown with a 2-0 win over Feyenoord.
