Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly submitted an offer to recruit Spanish goalkeeper Pau Lopez from Espanyol, AS is reporting.
Spurs plan to sign cover for first choice goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and they believe the 21-year-old would be a very good option.
Having coached Espanyol few years back, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has been keeping a close eye on team’s performances of late, and he has clearly been impressed with the talented shot-stopper.
It remains to be seen whether Pau Lopez would be interested in playing second fiddle to Lloris at White Hart Lane, but the lure of Premier League and Champions League football, as well as a higher salary could help him make up his mind.
The talented footballer enjoyed a breakthrough season last term, making 36 La Liga appearances.
His suitors Tottenham could face a tough task in an attempt to secure another Champions League qualification, as they are now 11/10 chance to finish in top 4.
