Spurs eyeing Bundesliga starlet

Tottenham Hotspur are showing interest in FC Koln defender Kevin Wimmer, Bild has suggested.

Spurs appear to be in the market for defensive reinforcements, and the Austrian defender is one of the first names on their hit list.

According to Bild, the Premier League side attempted to secure the youngster’s signature in the winter transfer window and are now set to make a fresh assault.

The same source has revealed that Tottenham are readying a €10 million proposal for the player’s services.

Kevin Wimmer began his career with Austrian side LASK Linz and he only needed one season in the senior team to prove his worth and earn a move to then second division side Koln.

The 22-year-old helped the German giants return to Bundesliga before impressing in the top flight and everything suggests he will be leaving the Billy Goats for a top European club some three years after joining.
