St Etienne agree deal for Pajot

Ligue 1 high flyers Saint Etienne have reached an agreement to sign midfielder Vincent Pajot from Rennes, Le 10 Sport has suggested.

The 24-year-old will be out of contract in just over a month and rather than extending his stay at Stade de la Route de Lorient, he has decided to leave.

While he had also received an offer from Bordeaux, Pajot ultimately accepted a proposal from Saint Etienne.

According to Le 10 Sport, the transfer will be made official in the next couple of days, with the holding midfielder set to join les Verts on 1st July.

Vincent Pajot is another impressive product of Rennes’ famous youth academy and he has so far amassed 84 league appearances for les Bretons.

The midfielder will now have the opportunity to continue his career at a club that have been making giant strides of late, with Saint Etienne ending the previous season mere two points behind Champions League positions.
