Fulham goalkeeper David Stockdale has joined Championship side Hull City on loan until January.
With 40-year-old Australia international Mark Schwarzer firmly established as the club’s number one, Stockdale has found first-team football hard to come by at Craven Cottage.
Stockdale has racked up 20 appearances for the club during the past two seasons when Schwarzer has been sidelined through injury or on international duty, but is yet to feature for the Cottagers this term, and has now been afforded the opportunity for further first-team exposure.
“The club can confirm that David Stockdale has joined Hull City on loan until January 2, 2013,” a statement on the club’s official website read.
The 27-year-old has enjoyed similar spells at Plymouth, Ipswich and Leicester over the past few years, and penned a new four-year deal in July 2011.
Hull currently sit in fourth place in the Championship, with Stockdale eligible to make his debut for the club this Saturday when they host Burnley at the KC Stadium.
