Tottenham Hotspur fail in Schneiderlin approach

Tottenham Hotspur failed in an attempt to sign Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin on transfer deadline day, according to the Mail Online.

The North London outfit were linked with a move for the France international before he made the switch from Southampton to Old Trafford.

They renewed their interest with the twenty-six year old playing only five minutes of United’s Premier League campaign so far.

However despite being behind Paul Pogba, Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini in the pecking order he has been kept on as cover with Jose Mourinho’s side challenging on four fronts this season.

Schneiderlin signed for United last summer and has since racked up forty-one appearances for the club in all competitions so far with his one and only goal coming in a 3-0 win over Everton last October.

He was part of France’s squad for this summer’s European Championships but was an unused substitute in all seven of their games at the tournament.
