Tottenham keen on Real starlet; City rival Chelsea for Bruma

hot-transfer-newsTottenham keen on Real starlet

Spanish newspaper Marca is reporting that Tottenham are weighing up a move for Real Madrid hotshot Jese Rodriguez.

It is no secret Spurs are in the market for a new centre forward, but they have so far failed in their efforts to sign Leandro Damiao and Alvaro Negredo.

According to Marca, Andre Villas-Boas is ready to turn his attention to a more realistic target that is Real Madrid youngster Jese Rodriguez.

The 20-year-old has been showing a great deal of potential at Real Madrid Castilla, but he is disappointed that he was never given a chance to prove his worth in the first team set-up.

With the player’s contract at Santiago Bernabeu set to expire in a year’s time, there is every chance the striker will be leaving los Blancos this summer.

While scoring 22 goals in 38 Segunda matches this term, Jese has also netted no less than 5 times in 4 games for Spain at the Under-20 World Cup in Turkey.

City rival Chelsea for Bruma

Manchester City are locked in the battle with Chelsea for Sporting Lisbon forward Armindo Bruma, O Jogo has revealed.

The 18-year-old forward has become one of the most sought-after players in European football following some scintillating showings for the Lions, with a number of top clubs casting admiring glances his way.

Chelsea were believed to be leading the race for the talented footballer and they even had an official proposal rejected by the Sporting chiefs yesterday.

The Blues’ €4 million offer was swiftly rejected by the Lions, but that is unlikely to stop the Stamford Bridge outfit from pursuing their interest in the player.

Meanwhile, Manchester City are also keeping close tabs on Bruma, although they have yet to submit an official proposal for the player’s services.

After establishing himself as a first team regular at Estadio Jose Alvalade earlier this season, the forward went on to score 5 goals in 3 matches for Portugal Under-19 side, before netting five times in four matches for the Seleccao at the Under-20 World Cup.

Coquelin loaned to Freiburg

Bundesliga side Freiburg have announced on their official website that they have signed Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin.

The 22-year-old arrives at Mage Solar Stadion on a season-long loan and he has already joined his new teammates.

Coquelin has been signed as a replacement for star midfielder Cedric Makiadi, who was sold to Bremen earlier this month.

“We are pleased with Francis as a dynamic midfielder, who can also drive forward in addition to his defensive qualities,” sporting director Jochen Saier said to club’s official website.

Francis Coquelin joined Arsenal from Stade Lavallois in 2008 and has since made a total of 21 Premier League appearances for the Gunners.

Having enjoyed a successful loan spell with Lorient during the 2010/2011 season, the Frenchman was again farmed out on loan to gain more first team experience.
